From a young age I always appreciated music. I remember lying in the back of my parents’ navy blue Astro van listening to music on my portable CD player (which at the time was a huge advance in technology) picking out little parts in the music that intrigued me, but I had no comprehension of all the work and instrumentation that went into those parts. I remember going to my best friend’s house growing up and listening to his dad play guitar, thinking to myself "I would love to do that".

When I was in the seventh grade my parents got me my first guitar. For a few months straight all I did was hold that thing. I was horrible, but I never put it down. My best friend at the same time got a drum set, so naturally we “jammed” if you can call it that. It was more like make a lot of loud noise that had no resemblance of music. Nevertheless, I loved it.

I got into high school and never took music seriously. I was more concerned with a social life and playing sports. When I was a junior in high school my church got a new music minister who I really connected with. He encouraged me to pursue music. My senior year I started to really focus on playing guitar, and realized I wanted to make music a career. No matter how little the money, I wanted to play music for a living.

I graduated high school, went to college, and later graduated college with a music business degree. My “professional” music career began the second I graduated from high school. I started playing for random people around town and was fortunate enough to get the ability to travel and play music while attending college.  That later led to making records, and once that started I knew there was no turning back.
